The Child Care Subsidy (CCS),
explained simply
The 3 Day Guarantee
From January 2026, the Australian Government’s 3 Day Guarantee means most families can access at least three days (72 hours per fortnight) of subsidised early childhood education and care, without needing to meet the activity test. If you weren’t eligible before, it’s worth checking again — the rules have changed in families’ favour.

What to pack on the first day
Send your child with a backpack or nappy bag containing: nappies (if you’d prefer not to use ours), spare underwear, one to two changes of clothes (more if toilet training), a water bottle, bottles and a tin of formula if needed, and a wide-brimmed hat. Please label everything. If your child needs their own sunscreen, send it daily.
What to Expect in the First Week
Starting care is a big step — for your child and for you. We make it gentle. Before the first full day, your child can come for two free three-hour trial sessions and two to three orientation visits, each around two hours, with you alongside them. Our director will contact you to arrange times that suit. Some tears in the first week are normal — for children and parents. Familiar faces, a kept routine, and daily updates through OWNA all help your child feel secure faster than you might expect.
